Casein analysis in bovine milk

Using this test, variants can be identified within the A1 and A2 groups, offering a more in-depth understanding of the beta casein gene in cattle. If farmers want to develop the herds to produce health-beneficial milk products, they need to select economically and financially advantageous A2 variants (A1-free). In order to breed cows that produce only A2 milk, breeders should select cows with the genotype A2/A2.
