Symptoms usually happened in the larvae and juvenile stages, and the mortality rate is close to 100%. Cases are distributed all around the world, including countries in Europe, Asia, and America, causing considerable losses to the local breeding industry. In Taiwan, grouper, sea bream, perch, and gentian grouper are the most harmful fish species.
